Sheriff Wood issues limited waiver of fire restrictions

Residents of Carbon County may light fireworks on the evening of July 4, 2018 in the parking lot of the Carbon County Fairgrounds, (see the attached map). This area has been determined to be a minimal risk fire hazard.
Below are the firework restrictions for each city.
Price City
1. Avoid using consumer fireworks in areas which may propagate a fire, namely vacant lots, open fields and areas with high weeds and combustible vegetation.
2. Consumer fireworks can travel up to 150 feet, or even farther if there is a wind, so plan accordingly.
3. Firework packaging can remain hot for a long time, so make sure your waste is cool to the touch before throwing it in the garbage can, better yet use your garden hose to cool it.
Fireworks can only be discharged in Price City on the following dates and times:
July 2, 11am-11pm
July 3, 11am-11pm
July 4, 11am-12pm
July 5, 11am-11pm
Wellington City
1. Fireworks will be used responsibly and as directed by product labeling.
2. No aerials over 25 feet.
3. Firework displays can not be within 25 feet of combustibles.
4. Continuous water source must be available and nearby.
5. Discarded fireworks must be placed in a non-combustible container and soaked with water until cooled.
6. Home owner will be liable for any damage caused by their firework displays.
7. Citations can be issued for violations.
Helper City
1. All legal fireworks be lit in the road.
2. Fireworks may not go higher than 25 ft.
East Carbon City
No fireworks allowed.
