Patricia (Pat) Ann Gorman

Patricia (Pat) Ann Gorman of Moab, Utah, beloved wife, mother, grandmother (BAM), and friend to many, passed away on April 26, 2016, in Grand Junction, Colorado, of Frontal Temporal Dementia. Pat was born on June 15, 1940, in Paris, Arkansas, to Justin and Mary (Katie) Neumeier, and was the middle child of 10 siblings. Raised a devout Catholic, she grew up in East Carbon, Utah.
Through her college roommate, Arlene Coulson, Pat met the love of her life and husband of 44 years, Michael Gorman of Evanston, Wyoming. They were engaged on July 4 and married on August 19, 1961, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in East Carbon, Utah. In 1965 Pat and Mike moved to Moab, Utah, and purchased Riley Drug Store in 1970, which they renamed Family Drug Store. Together they owned and operated the pharmacy, with Mike as the Pharmacist and Pat as the Pharmacy Technician. They were blessed with three children, Trish, Mike, and Greg. It was her husband and children that Pat considered to be her greatest accomplishment. They worked alongside each other for over 35 years before Mike was killed in an automobile accident on March 4, 2006.
Pat was very active in the Catholic Church, serving as a Eucharistic Minister, Lector, and teaching CCD classes for many years. Pat also enjoyed bowling, playing BINGO and cards, going on walks, and dancing.
Pat is preceded in death by her husband, Michael L. Gorman; her parents, Justin and Katie Neumeier; twin sister, Mary Irene Neumeier; and brothers, Justin J. Neumeier, James K. Neumeier, and Lawrence M. Neumeier.
She is survived by her three children, Trish (Dennis) Mogensen of Moab, Utah, Dr. Mike (Tasha) Gorman and Dr. Greg Gorman, both of Grand Junction, Colorado; grandchildren, Brittany “AJ” Hawkins, Kimmy Mogensen, Madison Gorman, Mackenzie Gorman, and Brynley Gorman; dear friend of the family, K.C. Culligan; siblings, Katie Rodosh of Henderson, Nevada, Jerry (Carol) Neumeier of St. George, Utah, Sue Huggins of Henderson, Nevada, Doris (Frank) Miller of Wellington, Utah, Elizabeth (Keith) Justesen of Henderson, Nevada, Peggy (Kent) Lindquist of Moab, Utah; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will take place as follows: Rosary at 7:00 PM at St. Pius the X Catholic Church on May 5, 2016, with a visitation at 6:00 PM. Mass at St.
