Wind knocks down Price power line

By John Serfustini

Powerful gusts of wind have been blamed for tearing down at least one power line in Price and causing some damage to roof shingles.
The line came down at about 3:30 p.m. at the corner of 400 East and 600 South. Neighbors said the two broken ends were arcing across the asphalt. When power was shut off, burn holes in the street and scorched debris were apparent.
Police, sheriff and fire responders blocked traffic until electric repair crews could arrive.
While no one was hurt in the incident, the street damage serves as warning as to what even a small line – this one was not quite as wide as a little finger – can do. Exact voltage was not immediately available.
