Russell Todd Martinez

By Sun Advocate

Russell Todd Martinez, age 50, passed away on January 27th, 2016 in his sleep. He was born on Cinco de Mayo of 1965 in Salt Lake City to Henry and Clara Martinez.
Dad lived a full life of work and family. He took pride in the success he had as an Ironworker, working everywhere from Kennecott to the Golden Gate Bridge. Those who worked with him loved him. He was like a brother to so many with his charismatic and entertaining personality. Outside of his work, he was in love with his children Shirese, Megan, Mitchell, (his like-a-daughter Chelsie), and especially his first granddaughter, Eden. There wasn’t a moment in the day where he wasn’t thinking about us, calling us, or bragging about us. He was absolutely there for anything that we needed, and he couldn’t say “no” to anyone- always giving and never taking. He taught us to be strong and generous, just like he was.
Daddy, you will be so deeply honored and missed by your family and friends. There is truly no one that can replace you.
Survived by- Father: Henry; Brothers: Tim, Xavier, Martin, Karim; Children: Shirese (Jordan), Megan (Josh), Mitchell; Grandchildren: Eden.
Preceded in death by Mother Clara, Brother Tom and Sister MaLis.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Serenity Funeral Home on Saturday from 1-3 p.m. 12278 S. Lone Peak Parkway #103; Draper, UT 84020
