Carbon Cheer dedicates dance to honorary cheerleader

By Sun Advocate

A longtime Dino cheerleader fan’s dream came true last Wednesday night when the Carbon High School varsity cheer squad dedicated its halftime routine to her and made her an honorary member of the team. Ashley Vigil, whose sister Alyssa is a junior on the squad, suffers from Retts syndrome and has been in a wheelchair her entire life. The cheerleaders brought her onto the court after the team performed a dance choreographed just for the night, and they finished their performacne with her by their sides. Ashley was awarded an official cheer squad jacket and sign made just for her at the conclusion of the performance.
