The College of Eastern Utah’s rock mascot Gibby is presently covered by a soccer goal with a sign that says “This rock is under protection of the soccer team.” The rock constantly changes, sometimes daily, as students paint it with different colors of paint and for different reasons. Since the early 1940s it has been a kind of message board for the school. After student government painted the rock to publicize Eagle Pride Week, the club soccer team added a goal and net to publicize the start of their spring season which is beginning soon. But by the time this is printed, no one can be sure the rock has the same message.
