After heading to Capitol Hill last week, Rep. Brad King, Rep. Darin Peterson and Senator Mike Dmitrich are participating in the 2004 session of the Utah Legislature.
Issues of interest to Carbon County officials and residents include road funding, public and higher education, charter schools, Medicaid, land use planning, water development and taxation.
Gov. Olene Walker submitted a controversial budget exceeding $8 billion to the 2004 Utah Legislature. Walker wants to take road money to fund education.
King represents the local area from the west Price city limits to the eastern boundary of the county. Peterson represents the rest of the county in the Utah House. Dmitrich represents the entire county in the Utah Senate.
