Dino runners competed in multiple races last week.
On Sept. 17 the team traveled to Uintah to compete with five other teams.
David Goodrich lead the boys team, finishing sixth out of 90 runners. Paul Goodrich finished 13th for Carbon, with teammate Bo Christensen finishing 27th, Zac Burdick taking 37th and Tyler Munns coming in 43rd.
For the girls, Melanie Madsen continues to set a winning pace for the team. Madsen placed 2nd out of 45 runners.
Elizabeth Brooks took 20th, Audrey Oliver finished 25th, Brittany Banning followed in 26th place and Brittany Horrocks finished 32nd.
Carbon also competed in an invitational run at Murray Park in Salt Lake City on Sept 19. Over 400 runners participated in the varsity division.
Madsen’s time of 20:03 gave her a fourth place finish.
“She looked strong and had good rhythm in her stride as she glided over the different terrain,” coach Stewart Foster commented.
Brooks also competed in the girls varsity race.
Paul Goodrich competed in the boys rookie division, taking 10th place out of 100 rookie runners. Cameron Grant, also a freshman, had his debut run in the rookie division.
For varsity, David Goodrich finished 77th.
The team’s next race is the Cache-Box Invitational on Oct. 1.
