Matt Braby and Bryan Stewart pressure a Cedar City athlete during a non-region game hosted earlier this year at Carbon High. The Dinos most recent match up took place last Thursday against Lehi whom the Dinos fell to, 66-45.

As the state finals rapidly approach, the Carbon High boys basketball teams looks toward winning as many games as possible in order to be included in the season ending tournament.
The latest game the Dinos competed in took place at Carbon High as the Lehi Pioneers came to town.
After defeating the Emery Spartans Jan. 24, the Dinos felt that defeating the Pioneers would be a challenge, yet the Dinos felt that they could score the victory.
As the game kicked off, the Pioneers jumped out ahead of Carbon, 17-9 in the opening quarter of play.
The Lehi team continued to dominate the court in the second quarter as they outscored Carbon, 20-13. The Dinos were down, but they were definitely not out. After all, there was still two quarters left to play.
The second half didn’t prove to be the time of much change however as the Dinos continued to struggle to gain control of the ball game.
By the end of four quarters, the Carbon team had fallen to the Pioneers, 66-45.
Joe Moynier has been one the dominant scoring athletes for the Dinos this season. Friday’s match up proved to be another successful game for Moynier as he posted 17 points against the Pioneers.
Tyson Hackwell followed in scoring with 10 points as Neal Maynes scored seven for the Dinos during the Region 8 competition.
The loss dropped the Dinos overall season record to 1-6 and boosted the Pioneers to 5-1. With Carbon appearing at the bottom of the Region 8 standings, it is unknown as to where exactly the team will finish the season at.
With only two games left on the Dinos schedule, the team hopes to win both match ups and finish the year on a winning note.
The Carbon team will host their final home game this Friday night as the Delta Rabbits visit Carbon County.
