Brittney Pollastro lines up a shot against the North Sanpete Hawks.

After falling to the Emery Spartans Jan. 23, the Carbon High Lady Dinos rebounded to easily defeat the North Sanpete Hawks, 61-48 last Tuesday night.
The Dinos have continued to be as strong team this year. The Region 8 loss to Emery came after a hard fought battle in which the Dinos lost by only one point with the final score of 52-51.
In this match up, Morgan Warburton lead the team in scoring with 29 points. She was assisted by Brittney Polastro who scored 10 points against the Spartan team.
After losing to Emery last week, the Dinos looked to turn their luck around as they hosted North Sanpete.
The competition was quite strong as each team competed well. In fact, neither team jumped out ahead until the fourth quarter.
With about five minutes remaining in the game, the Dinos pushed themselves ahead of the Hawks. The Carbon team then held on to finish the game victorious, 61-48.
Once again, Warburton lead the team in scoring with 26 points.
The Dinos have had an exciting season so far and look forward to returning to action this Thursday night as they travel to Lehi to take on the Pioneers.
This competition will be a rematch of sorts for the Dinos who fell to the Pioneers earlier this year, 53-48 while on their home court.
The loss bounced the Dinos out of the 3A standings at the time and now the chance at revenge is close at hand.
