UDOT Issues Updated Road Report

Fourth of July traffic will be heavy in Price Canyon, but there is only a little construction on that section of Highway 6.

The Utah Department of Transportation has issued the following reports on roads for this weekend in southeastern Utah.
•U.S. Highway 6 from MP 291 to 300 (Pavement Rehabilitation). This project includes a hot-in-place recycling of existing pavement. The work has been suspended through July and may resume later in the month.
•U.S. Highway 6 from MP 226 to 228 (Passing Lane). This project includes addition of a passing lane. Crews are currently working on shoulder areas of the road with one lane of traffic open in each direction with a reduced speed limit. Wide load restrictions are in place and motorists should expect some minimum delays.
•State Route 10 Muddy Creek Bridge Replacement (North of Emery). This project includes the replacement of a bridge over Muddy Creek north of Emery town. Crews have completed a temporary bridge and are currently building the permanent bridge. A reduced speed limit of 35 mph is posted through construction zone. Motorists should expect minimum delays.
•U.S. 6 from Price to Wellington Project includes widening of U.S. 6 from two lanes to four. The project is now complete and open to traffic as of Thursday.
•U.S. Highway 6 from MP 258 to 261 (Passing Lane).The project includes the addition of a passing lane. This project is suspended until August.
•U.S. Highway 6 at Sunnyside Junction This bridge project includes the widening of the bridge on U.S. 6 near Sunnyside Junction. Crews are currently working on the shoulder areas of the road with one lane of traffic open in each direction with minimum delays.
•I-70 from MP 107 to 138.
The project includes a roto-mill, overlay and chip seal of a 20-mile section of road. Traffic is restricted to one lane in each direction. Motorists can expect some minimum delays and should watch for workers and heavy equipment in the area.
•I-70 from MP 214 to 221.The project includes a roto-mill, overlay and chip seal of a 7-mile section of road. Project is complete and open to traffic as of Friday.
•State Route 128 Bridge Replacement at Mile Marker 14.
The project includes the replacement of a bridge 14 miles east of Moab. Crews have completed construction of a temporary bridge and are currently building the permanent bridge. A reduced speed limit of 35 mph is posted through construction zone. Motorists should expect minimum delays. San Juan
•U.S. 191 from MP 59-62 (Devil’s Canyon).This project includes the total reconstruction and widening of U.S. 191 through a three-mile section known as Devil’s Canyon. The project will cut the hills down, bring the dips up, and add passing lanes and turn lanes. Crews are currently excavating the new roadway and intermittently blasting the slopes. Traffic is restricted to one lane in alternating directions with delays of up to 15 minutes. Longer delays are possible during blasting operations. One lane in each direction will be open during the July Fourth weekend.
