Richard Gonzales
WEST JORDAN – Our loving husband, son, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Richard J. “Bo Bo” Gonzales passed away peacefully at home June 28, 2005, surrounded by his wife and four children.
Richard was born March 3, 1943 in Oak Creek, Colo., to Lino and Linda Gonzales. He married JoAnn Ramirez March 18, 1972.
He graduated from Carbon High School in 1961. Attended the College of Eastern Utah and began service in the U.S. Army in 1965.
He was an avid U of U basketball fan. Richard was a devoted member of the Roman Catholic Church.
He retired from the VA Hospital after 35 years and continued working with other medical companies.
Richard was a wonderful and loving grandfather to his 14 grandchildren.
He was a devoted husband, son and father, and will be missed by all those who knew him.
Survived by wife, JoAnn; mother; children, Matthew Ramirez, Mariaelena (Michael) Montoya, Lino (Stephanie) Gonzales, Benita (Mathew) Brewer; 13 grandchildren; sister, Gloria Regis; and niece, Julie (Jon) Meine. Preceded in death by father; and granddaughter, Jessica.
Funeral Mass will be Saturday, July 2, 10 a.m., at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 7405 S. Redwood Road. A viewing followed by Rosary will be Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Rd. Interment, Redwood Memorial Cemetery.
The family would like to thank all of his family and friends for their loving support, the Huntsman Cancer Institute and Superior Homecare and Hospice. A special thanks to Gene Rolfe and Deacon Mel Sanchez. Thanks grandma Sha Sha for the special prayers.
Calleen Claxton
WELLINGTON – Calleen Powell Claxton, age 66, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister passed away June 24, 2005, surrounded by her family after a brave and valiant fight with bone cancer.
She was born April 13, 1939, in Price to Stanley and Clara Bogh Powell.
Calleen graduated from St. John’s School of Nursing in Springfield, Mo., and worked as a registered nurse for over 30 years. She worked at hospitals in the states of Kansas, Missouri and Utah finally retiring from Castleview Hospital.
She loved music and was a gifted organist volunteering her services at several local churches.
She had a very strong faith in God and adored her family and friends. She loved animals, crocheting, embroidering, gardening, was an avid reader, and an excellent cook.
Mom struggled all her life with polio and later in life with post-polio syndrome, diabetes and cancer. She had an appreciation for the simple things in life and taught her children to embrace life, reach out, and care for others.
Calleen was a great mentor to her children and grandchildren. She taught them to always give their best effort at whatever they did in life.
Calleen was always thankful for anything anyone did for her.
Survived by four children, Kimberly (Celso) Montoya, Helper; Jeffrey (Kim) Claxton, Aurora, Colo.; Michelle McMinds, Mitchell, Ind.; Stephen (Leanna) Claxton, Pleasant Grove; nine grandchildren; Mathew Montoya, Michael Montoya, Melissa Rogers, Ryan Claxton, Jillianne McMinds, Peter McMinds, Bridgett Pemberton, Donald Claxton and Bronwyn Claxton; two great-grandchlidren, Mason Rogers and Maddux Rogers; sister, Lynnette (Wendell) Wakefield, Roswell, N.M.; brother, Kent (Raelene) Powell, Murray; and her dog and faithful companion, Molly.
Funeral service Wednesday, June 29, 11 a.m., Wellington LDS Stake Center, 935 E. Main, Wellington. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home, Tuesday evening, 7 to 9 p.m. and at the stake center one hour prior to service. Interment, Price City Cemetery.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff at Trinity Mission Health and Rehab of Provo for the excellent care they provided Mom in her final days as well as all the individuals who prayed and showed concern for her during her illness.
Russell Williams
WELLINGTON – Russell Stewart Williams, age 42, passed away June 27, 2005.
He was born May 25, 1963, in Superior, Ariz., to John Elmer and Grace Shepherd Williams.
Russ was a man of many talents and he shared these gifts by helping those in need. He was very creative with his hands and he loved doing good deeds for others.
He enjoyed playing the guitar, singing, fishing and traveling.
Russ loved spending time with his family, especially with his nephews, Tristen and Traxten; and niece, Kiona.
Survived by mother, Grace (Danny) Golding, Miller Creek; brothers, John Williams Jr., Spring Valley, Nev.; Troy Williams, Price; Jim Williams, Everett, Wash.; sisters, Tiffany (Ryan) Moyes, Salt Lake City; Tavia Golding, Grand Junction, Colo.; Lori (Doyle) Muncy, Price; grandmother, Inas Williams, West Virginia; aunt, Elise Norris, Grand Junction, Colo.; uncles, Chuck Shepherd, Pine Hurst, Idaho; Benton Shepherd, Salt Lake City; nephews, Tristen and Braxten; special friend, Jeremiah; and many other loving aunts and uncles.
Funeral service Friday, July 1, 11 a.m., Wellington 4th LDS Ward, 50 North 100 East. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the church Friday one hour prior to service.
