19 Pinnacle High students honored after Project HOPE success

For some people HOPE is just a four-letter word. But for Pinnacle High School students, hope created an unforgettable experience.
On May 15, 19 Pinnacle students were honored for completing a Project H.O.P E. program geared toward mitigating the consequences of inter-generational poverty by offering select students medical education and job training.
Along with completing 100 nursing training hours, complete with detailed written and hands-on testing, students were able to work toward obtaining a state certification in their fields of choice. Students rotated through multiple healthcare related fields, from information technology, nursing, surgical assistance, emergency room care and dental assistance, among others.
Castleview Hospital sponsored the training program, which encouraged students to support each other while completing their training.
When we are involved in teaching we become better physicians,” said Castleview CEO Mark Holyoak. “We become better administrators. We become better individuals.”
Honored at the special recognition ceremony, which took place on the Utah State University Eastern Campus, were the following students: Kenneth Wilde, Abigail Acosta, Jashelle Adams, Lacey Bennett, Yeraldy Bustillos, Alyssa Cogswell, Alexus Salazar, Nikitta Cooke, Karlee Cranford, Sidney Dalebout, Taylor Duncan, Logan Ellington, Josh Kerr, Brooke Lofley, Angela Osuna, Alexus Salazar, Hannah Stock, Kaeley Taylor, Mallory Taylor, and Camryn Vigil.
A number of Castleview employees and professionals from around the community were honored for their assistance to the program. These include: Tina Service, Misty Birch, Jennifer Nattress, Brandon Scow, Brian Powell, Fiore Wilson, Dixie Andrews, Tami Johnson, Russele Snow, Cindy Rowley, Chad Cowdell, Ciji Karcich, Dr. Jon Pressett, Dr. Blane Jackson, Spencer Eaton, and Dr. Scott Justensen.
Project H.O.P.E. also handed out accolades to Castleview’s Holyoak, Utah State University Eastern’s Jamie Cano, and Department of Workforce Services employee Nicole Steele.
