    Herbert was born in Cairo, Nebraska, to Christina Elizabeth Beekman and Bert McCoy Andrews. Herbert passed away at home on April 19, 2018, in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho, with his family by his side. The youngest of six children, he spent his early years in Hall County, Nebraska, until the family moved to Firth, Idaho, in 1936. He received his education in Firth and Shelley, Idaho schools, then enlisting in the Navy.
    He married his high school sweetheart, Caraleen Harker, raising five children in the Shelley and American Falls areas, then Bountiful, Huntington, Wellington, and Nephi, Utah, before returning to Shelley. They built a cabin in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho, where he loved watching the wildlife. They retired there and lived until his passing.
    Early jobs included working as a ditch rider for the Idaho Irrigation Canal; performing field support for John Deere Company; and being a milk man for DairyLand. After moving to Utah, he became a proud member of the Teamsters Union, drove trucks for construction projects and worked as a materials warehouseman on large industrial projects. During this time, he took up flying and bought an Aircoupe, which was his personal passion. He also discovered a neglected airstrip in Huntington, which he fell in love with and worked to restore. He was a member of the American Legion.
    He was passionate about his family and is beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed playing (and cheating at( Hearts with his family. He is survived by his wife, Caraleen; sons Richard (Leatha), Mansfield, AR; Reid (Sandra), Layton, UT; Rene (Teresa), Enoch, UT, and daughters Raeleen (Anthony) Sanchez, Taylorsville, UT, and Rachel Andrews of Pocatello, ID; 11 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two sisters, his mother and father-in-law and one grandson. He was a devoted member of the LDS Church.
    Services will be Saturday, April 28, 2018, at the Lava LDS Church, at 2:00 PM. There will be a visitation with the family from 1:00 – 1:45.
    The family would like to extend special gratitude to his CNA Kim, his nurse JoAnn, and Danny and Linda. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution in his name to Alliance Hospice, 920 Deon Drive, Suite C, Pocatello, Idaho, 83201.
