EAST CARBON-Ronald Ray Evans, 86, passed peacefully from this world on April 10, 2018.
Ron was born to Taliesin Whimpey Evans and Hannah Naylor Evans on October 2, 1931 in Columbia, Utah.  He married Lois Zoa Malaby, August 15, 1952 in Columbia, Utah, later solemnized in the Manti Temple.
Ron was a life-long resident of East Carbon, working for Carbon County Railway as a mechanic and heavy equipment operator, starting at age 16 and remained there his entire career.  He served in the Navy during the Korean War on the U.S.S. Yorktown as an airman and part of the anti-submarine helicopter squadron.  Ron was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in several bishoprics, and had many other callings in both the Sunnyside and East Carbon Wards.  He also served on the East Carbon City council for several years.  Dad loved to hunt, fish, camp, garden, and travel.  He had a great voice and loved to sing, especially with his wife, brothers, father, and ward choir.  Most importantly, Ron was known for his kindness, generosity, and his curious smile (he was quite the jokester).
He is survived by his wife, Lois Evans, Kaysville; children, Kerry (Keith) Radford, Clearfield; Barry (Annette) Evans, Sandy; sisters-in-law, JoAnn Murphy, Arvada Colorado; Patsy Stevenson, Broomfield Colorado; 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family.
Preceded in death by his parents, Taliesin & Hannah; step-mother, Kistine Webb; sisters, Catherine Monson, Hannah Roberts; brothers, Norman N. Evans, Gerald N. Evans; step-brother, Bill Webb; sisters-in-law, Nancy Bowlby, Barbara Evans, Arlys Evans, Eddie Evans; brothers-in-law, Wade Turner, Randall H Malaby, John C Bowlby, Glenn LaVern Roberts, Ernest “Bud” Monson, Dan Murphy, and Clive Stevenson, all whom he loved dearly.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 21, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at the East Carbon LDS Ward. Friends may call Friday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home in Price, Utah and at the church Saturday one hour prior to services.  Burial will be at the Cliffview Cemetery, Price.  Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Ron online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
