Respect our flag, follow etiquette

    Respect.
    Yes, I agree that respect is earned. We respect people, possessions and sometimes even an idea.
    What about our American flag? Over the past few years, we find ourselves working harder to encourage others to respect it.
    Respect for our great flag was hard earned by many people fighting on many foreign and some domestic soils just for the right to fly it.
    Our vets and most Americans have a deep respect for the flag. So if you’re going to fly the flag, please respect it enough to follow the proper etiquette.
    The flag proudly flies from dawn to dusk. It’s to be taken down during inclement weather, unless you have an all weather flag.
    If you are going to fly the flag at night, it is to be properly illuminated according to flag code.
    Yes, respect is earned.
