Deputy Mike Hreinson was honored as Carbon County Employee of the Month during the regular meeting of the Carbon County Commission March 21.
County Human Resources Director Rose Barnes, who has been making the monthly awards for many years, yielded the floor to Sheriff Jeff Wood to make the presentation.
Deputy Hreinson was singled-out specifically for his role in a drug bust last September, and in general for his level of dedication in the Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Wood said Deputy Hreinson is always first on the scene and last to leave. “What a great officer he is,” Wood said.
Following the presentation to Deputy Hreinson, county employees Kellie Payne and Chad Allred surprised the HR director with the same award. In making the presentation, Payne said, “Your job is not easy, but you do it very well and we appreciate everything you do.”
The commissioners were also in on the surprise presentation, and Rose’s husband, Bill Barnes, and daughters Glenna Etzel and Megan Camberlango were covertly waiting in the wings to join Rose as she received the award.
Payne said Barnes, who will mark her tenth anniversary with Carbon County in April, is wonderful to all employees, even in difficult situations.
She added, “I’ve learned a lot from her. She’s just a great person.”
