    WELLINGTON-Our wonderful mother, Betty Jane Phillips Cook, age 86, left this earthly life on March 25, 2018 at her home in Wellington, Utah.
    Betty was born on June 27, 1931 in Salt Lake City, Utah to John Alexander and Elizabeth Helen Daugherty Phillips. She grew up in Hiawatha and Price.
    Betty is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She had a firm testimony of her Savior and of the blessings of the Temple. She believed that “Families Are Forever” and was looking forward to returning home to be with her husband, her parents and her siblings.
    She attended elementary school in Price and graduated from Carbon High school in 1949.
    She married Mervin D Cook on May 10, 1950 in Wellington, Utah. On May 26, 1962 they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Manti Temple. They were married 59 years before he passed away on January 5, 2009.
    Mom followed in her parent’s footsteps by being a great cook. She worked at the Frontier Cafe and the Crest Cafe for years. She will be remembered fondly by many on Dad’s mine crews for her delicious pies.
    “Grandma Grapes” had unconditional love for all of her family.
    She was proud of her 28 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren with two on the way. She loved them all and they all knew they were her favorite!
    Family members wish to thank her daughter, Cindy Nelson, for putting her own life on hold allowing Mom to stay in her home until the end.
    Survived by her children: Ray (LaRae) Cook, Helen (Bert) Fryer, Jody (Gary) Marx, Kisty Cook, Cindy Nelson, Mac (Jaylene) Cook and Dana Belliston.
    Preceded in death by her husband, Mervin D Cook, son-in-law, Jerry Belliston, granddaughters Micaela Sigala and Cheylee Montgomery; grandsons Dawson Belliston, Waylon Belliston, Bert (Billy) Fryer and Joel Fryer; her parents, brothers John (Jackie) Alexander Phillips Jr. and George Robert Phillips; sisters June Wilcox, Rosemary Millslagle, and Marjorie Lee.
    The family would like to extend a special thanks to Community Nursing Services, especially Carrie, Willow and Terry for all the love and support given to Betty and her family.
     Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 12:00 noon at the Wellington First Ward LDS Church at 50 North 100 East Wellington, Utah. Family will receive friends at Mitchell Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 pm and at the church Thursday one hour prior to services. Interment, Wellington City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
