Three elementary students from Carbon County won awards at state for their Reflections entries. Reflections is a PTA-sponsored creative competition. This year’s theme was “Within Reach.” Students who earned the highest scores at their elementary schools moved onto the state competition. Carson Palmer, a 4th grader from Castle Heights, won 1st place for his film entry. Andrew Arthur, a kindergartner at Castle Heights, won an Honorable Mention for photography. Colton Day, a kindergartner at Sally Mauro, won an Honorable Mention for Visual Arts. He painted a picture of a boy surfing.
All three boys will be honored at an awards ceremony in Salt Lake City on April 20.
