At approximately 11:40 a.m. on Friday Kolton Anselmo, 19, was driving eastbound on U.S. Highway 6 near mile marker 224 in a late-model Silver Dodge Dakota. There was a steering malfunction and the vehicle crossed into the westbound lane, striking a late-model Dodge 1500 pickup head-on. The Dodge 1500 was driven by William Carroll, 63, from Clinton, Utah. Lisa Carroll, 63, was a passenger. Cache Barrett, 19, and Kyle Barrett, 21, were passengers in the Anselmo vehicle. Numerous injuries were reported. Two ambulances were dispatched to the scene, but no injuries were life threatening. Sgt. Warren Nelson said the direct impact probably saved the occupants from worse injuries.
