The biggest winter storm of the season kept snowplows and emergency responders busy over the weekend. According to the National Weather Service, the Price area received 2-4 inches of snow with greater amounts in the higher elevations.
There were numerous weather-related slide-offs and accidents along SR-6 from Soldier Summit to Horse Canyon, and also on SR-10 and I-70.
The accident scene pictured happened at about 3:15 p.m. Saturday when the westbound vehicle hydroplaned, causing the driver to lose control near milepost near the West Price Exit on SR-6. The vehicle left the highway and crashed through a fence, traveling down an embankment where Gordon Creek joins the Price River.
The Utah Highway Patrol said the driver and her two kids were transported to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
