EAST CARBON- Bertha Marie Boren Summers, 69, passed away on December 14, 2017 in Price, Utah. She was born in Carbon County, Utah on July 8, 1948 to Darrell and Freida Smuin Boren. Married Danny Summers, they later divorced.
Bertha was a longtime resident of Dragerton, Utah and was one of the first women coal miners hired in Carbon County. She spent many years as the manager of the state liquor store in East Carbon, Utah. Bertha will be remembered for her devotion to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Bertha is survived by her son, David (Kim) Summers; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by Dannett Davis and Shannon Summers.
