A horde of holiday shoppers converged on Helper’s Civic Auditorium last Friday and Saturday to find gifts at the annual Craft Fair. Vendor tables and booths filled two floors. The fair, traditionally held before Thanksgiving, is the first of the activities that earned the city’s title of “Utah’s Christmas Town” from Gov. Norman Bangerter.
Next on the agenda is the Lights On ceremony this Friday at 6 p.m. Marchers will meet at the Rio Theatre and walk to the Senior Citizens Park on Main Street. The flip of a switch turns on all the thousands of Christmas lights decorating store fronts.
There will be a luminary memorial service Nov. 29 at 6:30 p.m. at the city cemetery.
The Electric Light Parade will be Dec. 1 and 2 at 7 p.m. A chili dinner in Civic Auditorium will precede the parade both nights from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
