Two probationers were arrested and booked into the Carbon County Jail after they were found to be in possession of a large quantity of marijuana and prescription pills.
32-year old James Joseph Cole of Castle Dale and 25-year old Tyler Wayne Peczuh of Wellington are both facing misdemeanor and felony drug charges after Adult Probation and Parole agents, who were conducting probationer/parolee checks, discovered narcotic violations.
According to a news release from the Price Police Department, the AP&P Agents came upon a vehicle at 120 North Carbonville Road just before 3:00 p.m. on October 17. Cole and Peczuh were passengers in the vehicle, which was driven by an unidentified female.
The agents found drugs and items of paraphernalia and called for assistance by Price Police who ultimately seized 44 baggies of marijuana totaling almost a half-pound, a prescription bottle with 51 trazadone pills, three suboxone strips, a small amount of methamphetamine, a digital scale, and a ledger notebook listing transactions.
The news release said it was determined that the female driver was not involved, while Cole and Peczuh allegedly acknowledged responsibility for the drugs and paraphernalia.
According to court records, Cole has ten previous arrests involving drug charges, burglary, theft, assault and criminal trespass. Peczuh has 12 arrests on his record involving drug charges, theft, criminal mischief, burglary, vehicle burglary, assault, possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person and failure to stop at the command of a police officer.
AP&P put a 72 hour hold on both men, which means they can’t bail out of jail for at least three days while it is determined whether or not they should remain incarcerated.
