HELPER-Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and centenarian, Roma Pugliese Anderson, 101, passed away October 17, 2017 at the Heirloom Inn in Price.
She was born in Canada on April 17, 1916 to Frank and Amy Angell Pugliese. Roma married the love of her life, Archie L. Anderson, in Helper, Utah; he died November 18, 1991.
Roma was a longtime resident of Carbon County who enjoyed residing in the coal mining communities of Scofield, Rolapp and Castle Gate prior to making her home on Bryner Street in Helper. She lived for her family and her fondest memories were those shared while camping, hunting, fishing and dancing with her husband. Roma will be dearly missed by her family and a community of friends.
Roma is survived by her daughter-in-law, Frances Anderson, Spring Glen; grandson, Frank (Stacy) Anderson, Wellington, granddaughter, Cindy (Kooper) Pierce, Price; 4 great-grandchildren, Jordon, Landen, Landrie and Lanie; brother, Jim (Jess) Pugliese; numerous nieces, nephews and a community of friends.
Roma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Archie L. Anderson; son, Archie F. Anderson; brother, Frank Pugliese and a sister, Lena Hovat.
Funeral service, Friday, October 20, 2017, 11:00 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) in Price. Family will receive friends at Mitchell’s Thursday evening from 6:00-7:00 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to service. Interment, Mt. View Cemetery, Helper.
