Raymond Walter Hultgren, Jr.

CARBONVILLE-Raymond Walter Hultgren, Jr., passed away in his home on October 5, 2017 while surrounded by his loved ones after a battle with cancer. He was born June 19, 1950 to Raymond Sr. and Martha Armstrong Hultgren in Salt Lake City where he grew up. During his childhood, he enjoyed fishing with his grandfather and later graduated from South High School.
He joined the United States Marines in 1967 to 1971 and proudly served in the Vietnam War. There he earned numerous awards including national defense service medal, Vietnamese service medal, campaign medal, cross of gallantry, combat action ribbon, good conduct medal, and two purple hearts.
He met Dolly Ruth in May of 1968 and they were married that February in Sandy, Utah. They raised three kids together, Shelly, Jody, and Mark. Ray and Dolly were married 49 years when Ray passed.
Ray enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching football, and baseball. He was an amazing carpenter and had a green thumb above all. He was an outstanding cook that could turn anything into a gourmet meal. His greatest pride and joy were his eight grandkids, Stevie, Krissy, Josh, Sarah, Franky, Kyle, Aysia, Charlie (Alanya), and five great grandkids.
He is survived by his wife Dolly, daughter Shelly (Theron) of Carbonville, daughter Jody (Adrial) of Salt Lake City, son Mark (Erika) of Price, mother Martha Regis, and siblings Lajune, Hellen, Paul, Doug, and Randy. His grandkids and great grandkids. His previous son in law McRay and previous daughter in law Melissa.
Preceded in death by his father Raymond Walter Hultgren Sr.
Funeral service will be held Friday, October 13, 2017, 11:00 a.m., at the Utah Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel (located at 17111 South Camp Williams Road) in Bluffdale, Utah. Family will receive friends at Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) in Price, Utah on Thursday evening from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Raymond online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
