PRICE-Vera Rae Rasmussen Cook, age 83, passed away September 29, 2017 at her daughter’s home in Riverton, Utah.
She was born July 27, 1934 in Bennett, Utah to Albert Calvin and Golda Snow Rasmussen. She married her sweetheart, Carlos Eugene Cook on December 11, 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple. Gene preceded her in death on November 13, 2015
Mom lived a lifetime of service and was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served in primary, youth organizations and many Relief Society Presidencies, both in the ward and stake, and in the Library. The calling she considered the most important was her calling as a visiting teacher. She was faithful and helped many feel the Savior’s love through her visiting teaching.
Mom loved her 13 years of service in the Manti LDS Temple, most of those served with Dad. She spent many days working on family history with her mom and sisters, as well as many years volunteering as a 4H leader, helping many children learn to sew and cook.
Mom spent years chasing dad to all of the ball fields, watching him play ball and officiate. Her greatest joys in life were all of her “little angels.” She lived every minute worrying, caring and doing for all of them.
Vera is survived by her son, four daughters and their spouses, Brenda Holt, Michelle (Vince) Chilcott, Barry Lynn (Camilyn) Cook, Shaunette (Shane) Hamblin, Daphne Rae (Brent) Stockdale, brothers and sisters, Donna Wilkerson, Vee Taylor, Clyde Rasmussen, Lyman Rasmussen, Kenneth Rasmussen, Sue Rasmussen, and Sandra Mosley, 39 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
Vera was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, Dino Holt and great grandsons, AJ Holt, and Jax Matthew Hamblin.
