USU Eastern soccer team is working to establish region dominance on the junior college circuit and to support local club teams. Reserve soccer players invited the Price Youth Soccer Association’s 18-year-old team for a friendly match Tuesday at the college. The reserves played against the high school-aged students because it is mutually beneficial. “We want to do our best to support local club teams, to help them improve and be more competitive. It is also an opportunity for our reserves to get better,” said assistant soccer coach Jared Woodhouse.
The Eagles mens team beat 16th in the nation ranked Salt Lake Community College in two back-to-back games last Saturday at home. “It was a great way to start the season,” said Woodhouse. The women lost both of their games against SLCC the same day.
Next week the teams travel to Colorado to play both Trinidad State Junior College and Otero Junior College.
