Virgene Hansen

EAST CARBON-Our sweet Mom and Grandma, Virgene Hansen, 86, passed away peacefully August 25, 2017 while surrounded by her loving family.
She was born April 18, 1931 in Price, Utah to Clark Wesley and Nellie Dora Johnson Creamer. Married the love of her life, Keith Hansen, March 4, 1951 in Price, Utah; their marriage was solemnized in the Manti Temple in May of 1969. Keith preceded her in death on December 11, 1999.
Virgene was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served as Ward Organist, Stake Relief Society President, Compassionate Service Leader and in numerous other callings. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and volunteered 15 years as a Pink Lady at Castleview Hospital in Price. Mom will always be remembered for her many acts of kindness, service and generosity to her family and friends.
Virgene was a lifelong resident of Carbon County who worked at Carbon Medical and later retired from Smith’s Food King and Pharmacy in Price. Mom will be loved and held in our hearts until we meet again.
Survivors include her daughter, Ann (Steve) Froebe, Sandy, UT; son, Mark Hansen (Mark Fidelman), Brooklyn, NY; grandchildren, Shane (Julie), Jeff (Kandis), Chris (Jennifer), Scott (Miriam), and Michelle (Rusten); and 10 loving great-grandchildren. Virgene is also survived by her sister, Kathleen (Dennis) Christensen, Holbrook, AZ; in-laws, Andrea Hansen, Fort Collins, CO, Sandy (Harry) Halamandaris, San Clemente, CA.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Keith Hansen; brother, Wes (Joan) Creamer; and a brother-in-law, Jim Hansen.
Funeral service, Wednesday, August 30, 2017, 11:00 a.m., at the East Carbon LDS Ward Chapel (145 Grassy Trail) in East Carbon where the family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow in the Price City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Virgene online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
