Kathryn Halamandaris

PRICE-Kathryn Dragatis Halamandaris, age 83, daughter of the late Harry and Efthemia Dragatis, was born September 3, 1933 in Price, Utah and was called home to join the Lord on July 23, 2017.
Kathryn was the youngest of four children, following sister Mary, brother Nick and sister Pat. She attended Notre Dame Catholic School and graduated from Carbon High School in Price, before completing some course work at Utah State University. Kathryn was a person of deep faith and was a lifelong, dedicated member of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in Price. She was a long standing member of Philoptochos, served the choir for many years, and was a champion festival raffle ticket salesperson.
She was united in holy matrimony to George Halamandaris on September 16, 1956. This union was blessed with three children, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
George and Kathryn moved from Price to southern California in 1958 following the birth of their first child. They had two more children in California. Kathryn was a homemaker, who went back to work after her husband’s death in 1971. Kathryn returned to Price with her daughter in 1976, and worked 25 years until age 72 at the Forest Service. She also helped her sister Pat at the Mecca Bar and Café for many years.
Kathryn loved to cook and enjoyed music and dancing, especially Greek. Most of her thoughts were consumed considering what she could do for others, especially her family.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Gus (Ksenija), Harry (Cynthia) and Lainie (Jerry), her 10 grandchildren (Elysha, George, Philip, Alexis, Nick, Arianna, Alethia, Jeremy) and great-grandchildren (Sophie, Madelynn), her sister Mary Vatsis, and her many nephews, nieces, and in-laws.
