Community Daze thrills community once again

Community Daze weekend has gone and passed but left many with fun-filled memories.
Kicking off Community Daze Friday afternoon was the Miner’s Trading Post Parking Lot Party that served freshly smoked ribs and pulled pork sandwiches. While enjoying a delicious meal there was live music from Mountain Pacific Band along with train rides, climbing wall, dunk tank, and many other booths. All proceeds went to Bruin Point Elementary.
Following the Parking Lot Party was Color Daze sponsored by Carbon Medical where kids threw bags of colored chalk around the Little League field, coloring their friends with neon pinks, oranges, purples, and greens.
The parade started at Miner’s Trading Post at 10 a.m. Saturday. Sunnyside and East Carbon first responders, classic cars, Carbon County Royalty, and many others journeyed their way to the Sunnyside park while throwing candy to happy little faces on the sidewalk. The biggest hit was that the Bookmobile along with October Hamilton went down the street handing out bookmarks to the community to let them know that the Bookmobile is back in business.
Many booths along with bounce houses, slides, and the climbing wall filled the park with entertainment for all ages. The singles and doubles horseshoe tournament kept the community busy throughout the day.
Once again, Bo Huff’s Car Show was a big event for all the community to gander at the classic cars, bikes, and a few buses.
The Sunnyside 67th Annual Rodeo was Friday and Saturday night. Mutton Bustin’, chicken chase, and the dash for cash kept all the children thrilled to be at the rodeo. On Saturday night, Dalton Rudeman ended the rodeo with an 8-second ride scoring 81 points, winning the Saturday bull riding event.
