Pat Gabossi

PRICE-Ruth Helen (Pat) Gabossi, 86, passed away in her home in Price, UT on July 1, 2017 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born in Oak Creek, CO on January 23, 1931 to Swede and Carrie Hanson. She married Tony Gabossi in Denver, CO on July 22, 1955, and together they had three children: Kim, Tony M and John.
Pat grew up in Rock Springs, WY and graduated from Rock Springs High School. She spent her summers at her grandparents ranch in Deer Creek Park, near Oak Creek. As an only child, she was very close with her aunts and uncles. She loved dancing and listening to them play music.
An avid bowler, Pat became a top competitor in Price until she injured her knee. She loved to crochet and knit and made many beautiful afghans. She spent hours at Notre Dame School, volunteering in the cafeteria and chaperoning school functions including field days and sports trips. Her fondest memories were her many travels with her husband and family. She often visited her son in Canton, MI and other family members in California. She always spoke of her times in Las Vegas, Niagara Falls, Washington D.C. and Italy.
She is survived by her loving husband Tony who took excellent care of her in her time of need; children Kim Gabossi of Price, Tony M & Cami Gabossi of Vernal, John C & Tammy Gabossi of Canton, MI; four granddaughters: Kari, Kelli, Whitney and Cenzlie and two grandsons Trevor and Josh. Four great grandchildren: McKenleigh, Elamaye, Michael and Gracie.
The family wishes to express gratitude to Symbii Home Health, and especially Rick Stockburger who spent so many hours ensuring that she was without pain and always comfortable; and to the dedicated services of the rest of the Symbii caregivers who showed so much patience and interest in caring for Pat.
As per her request, she will be cremated and have no immediate memorial services. The family request no flowers. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
