An investigation into a stolen 55 inch flat screen TV resulted in the apprehension of two Price women who were arrested for dealing drugs and other charges.
According to a news release from the Price Police Department, Officer Nick Parker developed information that the TV had been traded for methamphetamine and was located at a residence where drug dealing was allegedly a continuing activity.
Officer Parker applied for and was granted a search warrant from Seventh District Court. On Sunday, Parker and other officers from the Price PD, Carbon County Sheriff’s Office and Wellington Police Department made contact with the occupants of the residence at 150 South 1150 East in Price where the stolen TV was located and seized. The investigation of the burglary of April 25 when the TV was stolen is ongoing.
In searching the residence, police also found and seized 16 grams of methamphetamine, a small amount of marijuana, and several items of drug paraphernalia.
54-year old Jamie C. Mele and her niece, 31-year old Michelle Christine Ruden were both booked into the Carbon County Jail on felony level charges of Possession of Stolen Property, Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine, and Conspiracy.
Mele has 21 previous arrests, including multiple charges for DUI, prescription fraud, drug charges, domestic violence, retail theft and theft. Ruden has three previous for intoxication and drug-related charges.
