The Lady Dinos Golf Team tied for third in its opening Region 12 tournament at Richfield’s Cove View Golf Course. Carbon posted a team score of 105 points. Laini Davis lead the team with 34 points, Aubrey Fausett made 28, Jordan Bianco 22 and Indie Gardner 21. Girls’ golf uses a point system where a par is 5 points and you add or subtract a point for a birdie or bogie; quadruple boggie is the highest amount of strokes a player may take. Juab won the tournament with a score of 158 and Richfield was second with 129. Canyon View tied Carbon with 105.
“We did okay,” said head coach Kenji Otani. “It was a good benchmark outing. I’m proud of the girls, they did what I asked and tried on every shot. We still have a lot of golf to play.”
