The Carbon High School boys’ basketball team defeated Canyon View High School on Friday night 70-65 for its second Region 12 win of the season, after earning a victory over North Sanpete High School earlier in the week.
The Dinos got out to an early lead over the Falcons of Canyon View, and with senior Kyle Quinton adding eight points to the Dinos’ total in the second period, Carbon went into halftime leading by 10 points in a 30-20 game.
The Falcons ramped up their play early in the second half, bringing the game within four points of a tie score by the end of the third period, although the Dinos still led. Carbon held on in the fourth quarter, and came away with the victory.
Earlier in the week, the Dinos pulled out a 62-50 victory over North Sanpete. The Dinos improved their record to 9-7 overall and 2-0 in Region 12 play with the wins. Carbon will play host to Richfield High School on Wednesday with game time slated for 7 p.m.
