Pinnacle Girls suffer loss to ICS

By Sun Advocate

The Pinnacle Canyon Academy high school girls’ basketball team suffered a 41-28 loss to ICS on Friday, struggling to get the ball into the basket.
The Panthers had a hard time putting points on the board early in the game, tallying only six points in the first period, compared to the Lions’ 15. The Panthers picked up their scoring a bit in the second period and brought their total to 16, but the Lions were still leading by 12 at halftime.
The third period proved the most dismal for the Panthers, as they only manged to score two points in the eight minutes of play. At this point they trailed the Lions 37-18.
The Panthers played their best ball in the fourth period, scoring 10 points of their own while holding the Lions to only four. However, it was too late for a comeback and the Panthers were handed the loss at home.
The Panthers fall to 0-4 on the season, with hopes of improving their play before beginning Region 19 games in January. The Panthers next game will be a home match against Wendover on Friday at 6 p.m. The Panthers will also play at home against Rockwell on Dec. 15 at 6 p.m., before playing four games on the road.
