Christmas dinner for area needy

By Sun Advocate

A local charitable group wants to make sure that no one in the community goes without Christmas dinner. Community Cares, a nonprofit organization, will host a complete holiday dinner for the hungry, homeless, elderly and needy people in the county who need help.
It will be in the Jennifer Leavitt Student Center at USU Easter on Christmas Day from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Transportation will be provided to and from sites in Helper, East Carbon and Price.
Community Cares will also deliver dinners to the homebound.
Brenda Deeter heads the organization, whose executive committee includes Gillian Bishop, Colleen Byrge, Pam Cha, Stephanie Cha, Steve Cha, Tami Huntington, Terry Johnson, John Murillo and Jessie Simms.
The meal is open to anyone in the community who is alone or in need on Christmas Day. No reservations are needed.
However, persons needing transportation or who want dinner delivered should call Brenda Deeter at 435-820-8140.
Donations can be made to Community Cares Christmas Dinner, P.O. Box 255, Price, Utah 84501 or your donation may be dropped off to Jesse Simms at the Washington Federal Bank, 308 East Main Street in Price.
