Big cast, big crowd for 2015 ‘Messiah’

By Sun Advocate

A capacity crowd rose to a standing ovation at the end of the 2015 presentation of Handel’s “Messiah” Sunday night at Price Civic Auditorium. The production involved about 100 members of the Carbon-Emery community who represented the combined USU Eastern Choir and Castle Valley Chorale and Orchestra. Jay Andrus conducted the performance, which included choruses and vocal soloists.
Directors were Kay Fox, Adam Cunningham and Andrus. The event was sponsored by Price City’s Culture Connection and USU Eastern. Local performance of “Messiah” is now in its seventh decade, making it one of the longest-lived community productions in Utah.
