‘Messiah’ at Price Civic Aud

By Sun Advocate

Advice to concert-goers for this Sunday’s performance of Handel’s Messiah: After the Hallelujah chorus, sit back down and enjoy what follows. The oratorio won’t end this year until the orchestra and choir reach the final word of “Worthy is the Lamb, Amen.”
That’s the way the composer would want it and that’s the way conductor Jay Andrus says it will be done.
Andrus will lead 100 members of the USU Eastern Choir and Castle Valley Chorale and Orchestra. Curtain time is Sunday at 7:30 p.m. in Price Civic Aud.
The concert is sponsored by USU Eastern and the Price City Culture Connection.
Admission is free. Singers and instrumentalists have been rehearsing for two months and practicing long hours on their own between weekly rehearsals.
