This week’s Joy Global Athlete of the Week is Carbon High School swimmer Veronica Ibanez.
Ibanez, a junior at CHS, placed first in three races at friday’s meet, including the girls 200 yard im with a time of 2:39.32, the girls 100 yard back with a time of 1:12.61 and as part of the girls 200 yard medley relay, which won with a time of 2:14.58.
The Girls ultimately took second place at Friday’s meet behind Uintah, but ahead of gunnison. The team’s next swim meet will be at Emery on on Dec. 8.
