Outdoor recreation writer Steve Christensen included this picture of a juvenile Redtail Hawk with his Skyline Drive feature on page 10A, but there wasn’t room for it on the page. However, the editor decided it was too good to leave out so it made Page One instead. Christensen said the bird posed for this picture. It had caught a friendly updraft and hovered motionless overhead, giving the photographer time to set precisely the right focus and aperture.
