No pool bubble until December

By Rick Sherman

Price Desert Wave will stay open

Fall is definitely in the air but the new “bubble” to cover the Price City Wave Pool still hasn’t arrived. The weather has been unseasonably warm, but turned cooler this past weekend with a storm system that is predicted to linger and produce rain throughout the week.
The Price City Council approved a bid in August from Yeadon Fabric Domes to replace the dome, but the company says it will be the first of December before they can deliver. The dome usually goes up by the middle of September.
Price City Facilities Manager Tamara Gray says the wave pool temperature is being kept at 98 degrees and could open again if warmer weather returns, but in the meantime, activities have been moved to the indoor pool, including swim lessons and swim teams.
The Desert Wave Pool Annual Spook Alley is set for this Friday and Saturday, October 23 and 24. Weather permitting, swimming will be allowed outside under the fall leaves. Otherwise the Halloween attractions and activities will be held at the indoor pool.
