The Carbon High School girls’ volleyball team’s winning streak continues after a big win against rival Emery High School on Thursday. The Dinos defeated the Spartans after a difficult five sets to extend their streak to eight matches. heading into Region 12 play this week.
Carbon and Emery endured back-and-forth wins in the match, with Carbon taking the 25-21 win in the first set, but Emery taking the 25-23 win in the second set. The Dinos won the third match by a dominant 25-18, but suffered a tough 25-13 loss in the fourth set. Carbon came out on top with a 15-12 win in the final set to come away with the match win.
Emery was the Dinos’ last non-region game, and Region 12 play will begin on Tuesday. Carbon will take on Richfield High School at home with Varsity playing at 6:30 p.m.
