A 25-year-old man was shot in the leg during a domestic violence incident in Helper Tuesday night. His alleged assailant, a 26-year-old Price woman, was arrested and booked into Carbon County Jail.
Helper Police Chief Trent Anderson identified the victim as Colby Migliori of Helper. The chief reported that the suspect, Shalese Manzanares, fled to Price with several children who had been in or around the house. She was located by Price Police and taken into custody shortly after. Police also recovered a firearm in her vehicle.
Helper police and Carbon County deputies were dispatched to a residence on B Street at 10:30 p.m. They found Migliori bleeding profusely from a gunshot wound in the leg. Helper Rescue 3 and Carbon County Ambulance treated him at the scene and transported him to Castleview Hospital. He was admitted in stable condition.
Anderson said Manzanares was also taken to Castleview, and after being medically cleared, she was taken to jail. She was booked for Aggravated Assault, Carrying a Dangerous Weapon while Under the Influence, Reckless Endangerment and Intoxication.
The chief said charges are pending against Migliori for the alleged domestic violence assault that occurred before the shooting.
