Investigators have determined that an electrical problem is to blame for a fire in a Kenilworth home Sunday morning.
Helper Fire Chief Richard Colombo said smoke and heat damage is estimated at $45,000 to $50,000.
Fire fighters from Helper and Price extinguished the blaze Sunday, but had to return Monday afternoon to quell continued smoldering that could have reignited flames.
The owners of the house at 100 North and 2nd Ave. were not home at either time. There were no injuries to firefighters or damage to nearby buildings.
Monday’s threat was discovered by Farm Bureau Insurance adjuster Marty Mason and Kerrie Jensen of Service Master.
When they opened to door to assess the damage, they found the home again filled with smoke.
