CHS Swimmers take on the best at 3A State Meet

By Sun Advocate

The Carbon High Swim Team swam with the best of 3A and held their own during the State Meet at BYU.
Overall the CHS Girls team took ninth place and the CHS Boys took 14th.
CHS Head Coach Kamra Davis said the team may have been affected by nerves swimming on the big stage but they were still able to set a handful of best times. The girls 200 and 400 Free Relay teams set personal bests as well as the boys 200 Free Relay. Individually, Kaisha Lott set personal bests in the 100 Breaststroke and the 50 Free and teammate Addy Olson added a best time in the 100 Backstroke.
With a team comprised of many young swimmers that should return next season, Davis said she is hoping that the team uses the experience at the State Meet in preparation for next year.
“Making it to State is like the cherry on top. It’s a big deal for our team,” Davis said. “This experience hopefully will give the team motivation to work hard to improve and be ready for next year.”
