David B. Smith

PRICE – Our favorite radio personality (DJ), David Burton Smith, aka The Green Eyed Monster and Captain Morgan, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 26, 2008, from congestive heart failure.
David was born Feb. 1, 1947 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Bill M. and Maxine Turner Smith. He married the love of his life, Becky Bowersox, on July 3, 1964.
He was a member of the LDS Church.
David’s passion was radio, starting in the early ’60s at KVOG, and he worked at almost every radio station in Ogden, Salt Lake City and the intermountain west. He was last working in Price at KASL. He also owned radio stations in Evanston, Wyo., and received many awards for his work in radio.
David loved his family and friends and lived to see others laugh.
Surviving are his wife, Becky; sons, Bill and David; daughter, Jennifer Johnson; eight grandchildren, Jeremy, David, Ashli, Fallen, Jacob, Russell, Ian and Daniel; his mother, Maxine; and sister, Fawn. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill; and sister, Starr.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 1, at 1 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Boulevard. Friends may call at the mortuary Tuesday from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Boulevard.
As David would always say: “I’ll see you awhile ago.”
