Josh Brarber connects for a hit in the Saturday match-up between CEU and WNC. Hits were few and far between in the weekend affair as CEU lost all four games

Another weekend and four more losses for the struggling Eagles as they played host to Western Nevada.
On Friday they dropped the first game 10-2 then went on to a closer 5-3 loss. On Saturday they again dropped a pair with a 6-1 and a 4-0 loss.
Coach Scott Madsen was brutally honest in his assessment of the weekend. “We came out and played poorly and they took it to us. We started really sloppy and got better, but could not string together the hits to score any runs.”
But he went on to say that his pitching rotation performed better this weekend and he was happy with that.
Riley Gordon was on the mound for the final game Saturday and despite the loss, had a solid outing.
“He has been our most consistent hurler this season and I save him for Saturdays when we are usually hitting better. Just not this Saturday.”
Western Nevada did not have trouble finding their stroke and also followed up with sound play in the feild to quash any CEU rallies.
Things may be looking up for the Eagles, because CNCC is scheduled to roll into town this weekend.
CEU has beat CNCC three of the four games they have played this season.
Game times are Friday double-header starting at 1:00 pm and the Saturday double- header beginning at 12 p.m.
Coach Madsen hopes this will wake up the bats and get the team back on track before SLCC comes calling the following weekend.
