Returning forward Rafael Moreira takes it to the hole during a game last season at the BDAC.

The College of Eastern Utah Golden Eagles finished off their turkey and loaded up to head to Dodge City, Kan. for a pair of pre-season games. And a couple of wins made it a good holiday weekend for the college. They beat Lamar Community College 76-64 on Friday and finished things off with a 72-63 win over Dodge City on Saturday.
The Eagles shot 51 percent on Friday night while they held the Runnin’ Lopes to 37 percent. CEU had a comfortable 14 point lead going into the break but alas they let Lamar back in the game a bit in the second half letting them score 38 points. But the deficit was too much for the Lopes to overcome and CEU easily handed them a loss.
Kal Bay came off the bench and led the Eagles with 16 points. Leon Sutton dished out six assists.
Felix Casperi was all over the boards, pulling in 14. He also added 13 points. As a team the Golden Eagles hit 7 of 15 from beyond the three point line.
On Saturday Dodge hung in the game in the first half only to see the Eagles take a seven point lead into the locker room. In this game though, it was CEU that finished strong, adding another two to their lead to finish the game over Dodge with a nine point edge.
Casperi scorched the net with 22 points. Darington Hobson followed up with 19 and Bay added 16 to lead the Eagles.
Stephen Franklin was the Eagles assist leader with 9. Hobson and Franklin ruled the boards with 17 between them.
The hot home team will play at the BDAC on Wednesday night and then head to Sterling Colo. for a tournament. The squad will also have home games on Dec. 4 and 7 starting at 7 p.m.
