Debbie Sacco
CARBONVILLE – Our loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Debbie Lynn McKendrick Sacco, age 50, passed away Feb. 27, 2007 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born May 6, 1956 in Price to Charles Sherman and Delpha L. Davis McKendrick. Married Rex L. Sacco Dec. 2, 1972 at Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church in Price.
Debbie had a great faith in the Lord, she read her Bible daily, and was a devout member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.
She served as the secretary of the Carbonville Democratic Precinct for 16 years, served as the first vice president of the Utah Cattlewomen’s Association and secretary of the Eastern Utah Cattle Growers Association.
Debbie worked for the Carbon County School District as a bus driver for 10 years and as a bank teller and loan officer at Key Bank.
Debbie will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, warmth, friendship and endless pots of coffee.
Debbie enjoyed working on the farm and she shared her gentle touch with the animals she nurtured. She loved to cook, crochet, sew and most of all spend time with her family and friends.
Survived by husband, Rex L. Sacco; wonderful daughters, Heidi (Steve) Grange, Bridget (Gene) Tullio; four grandchildren, Debra Marie Sacco Grange, Rex Eugene Tullio, Rhett Michael Tullio, Roper James Sacco Grange; brothers and sisters, Roy (Twila) McKendrick, Bonnie Milkovich, Norman McKendrick, Maxine (Robert) Pitts, Cecil (Bette) McKendrick, Billine (Raymond) Jones, Dixie (Tim) Warren, RaeDell Guptill; and many loving nieces and nephews who will miss her very much. She was preceded in death by parents; and sisters, Barbara E. McKendrick and Maurine Spangler.
Funeral Mass Saturday, March 3, 10 a.m., at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Helper. Vigil service Friday evening, 7 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Friday evening one hour prior to service. Committal service, Mountain View Cemetery, Helper.
Randy Topolovec
PRICE/SALT LAKE CITY – Randall Topolovec, “our MacGyver”, found amazing courage to battle liver cancer, yet passed away on Feb. 26, 2007 with his family by his side.
Born on Feb. 28, 1951 in Price to Rudy and Harriet Bacon Topolovec. He married his college sweetheart, Kathy Radakovich 35 years ago.
A man of great integrity with an incredible work ethic, Randy dedicated his life to his profession and own business in both Price and later Salt Lake for more than 40 years. He retired early to give his complete attention to his wife and family while battling cancer.
His life was full of success and fulfillment, enjoying the tranquility of their beautiful home and pool, riding motorcycles, fishing, traveling, driving their convertible, continuing his private pilot flying (as “TopRat”), and tinkering on projects.
He leaves behind his wife; daughters, RaNae (Scott) Schmidt and Stephanie (Kevin) O’Brien; seven-week-old granddaughter, Paige Marie O’Brien; sister, Sandra (Ron) Kosec; and sister-in-law, Kari (Robert) Fowler.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, March 3, at 3 p.m., at St. Thomas More, 3015 East Creek Rd., Sandy, where friends may offer condolences to the family beginning at 2 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to Starks Funeral Parlor.

George Snow
GREEN RIVER – George Mason Snow was called back to our Father on Feb. 22, 2007 in Green River.
He was born in Price on July 18, 1938 to Orrin Levi Snow and Calla Winnona Hill Snow. He was married twice, first in Salt Lake City, sealed in the temple to Connie Lane in 1963, then to Barbara Alexander in a civil ceremony in Wendover, Nev. in 1973.
Dad lived life fast, growing up in the Avenues in Salt Lake and spending summers on the farm with Grandpa Hill, as well as cousins, aunts, uncles and lots of cars. He had a great many adventures with friends too numerous to name.
He attended high school in Sugar House and the University of Utah for several years, becoming a journeyman mechanic.
Dad made his home primarily in Utah, also living a short time in Idaho. He raised five children over the course of his life.
Dad had a dry wit, which he passed on to many of his children.
Dad was as generous with his time, as he was with his advice and he was always willing to lend a hand, or share his expertise.
He loved his family greatly, but cars and farming were his true passions.
He is survived by two ex-wives, Connie and Barbara; children, Joy Snow, Robert Snow, (Sharla) Deborah Snow, Rachel Snow (Joseph), Abraham Snow (Crystal); stepchildren, Christina Thompson and Byron Oak Farley, as well as brother, Keith Snow (Pat); and sister, Annette Snow Clos. He was preceded in death by father, Orrin Levi Snow, mother, Calla Winnona Hill Snow; sisters, Flora Snow Anderson and Marylin Snow Olsen; grandparents Hill and Snow; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Feb. 28, at the LDS Church in Green River. Interment, Wellington cemetery, under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
Lester Hutchens
PRICE- Longtime resident of Carbon County, Lester Virgil Hutchens, age 92, passed away peacefully Feb. 22, 2007 in Price.
He was born Sept. 8, 1914 in Wellington, Colo., and was adopted along with his younger sister, Dorothy, in Denver, Colo., on Sept. 25, 1920 by Arthur Virgil and Cora Bell Wolfenbarger Hutchens. Graduated from Paonia High School in 1932 and later married Clara “Peggy” Simpson, in Hotchkiss, Colo., on July 13, 1941.
He became a proud veteran of World War II when he entered the United States Navy in 1942, serving in the Second Amphibian Corps in Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands.
In 1958 he moved from Grand Junction, Colo., to Price, where he managed Cate-Carbon Equipment Company for 20 years.
He was a lifetime member of the VFW, Kiwanis and Price Elks Clubs, and served as a member of the Carbon County Draft Board.
He loved fishing, growing tomatoes, pole beans and roses.
Survived by children, Jerry E. (Kathy) Hutchens, Fairview; Larry H. (Monina) Hutchens, Wilton, N.Y.; Sandra M. (Brent) Wasmer, Draper; grandchildren, Paul Jeffery (See) Hutchens, Groten, Conn.; Stacy Amber Hutchens, Knoxville, Tenn.; Jennifer N. (Bryson) Anderson, Draper; Terry-Colin “Woody” Wasmer, Draper; and Erin Elizabeth Pietsch-Weedop (Tyrell), Salt Lake City; daughters-in-law, Shaunna (Bruce) Haslam, Lehi; and Sally (Terry) Pietsch, Syracuse. Lester was also survived by Lucile’s children, David Ronald (Nancy) Robertson, Billings, Mont.; Donald (Cindy) Robertson, White Hall, Mont.; and Janice (Jim) Randolph, Price. Lester is preceded in death by devoted wife, Peggy, of 38 years who passed away on Dec. 24, 1978; youngest son, Dale A. Hutchens, who passed away by a coincidence of faith eight hours prior to Lester’s passing; most beloved first born grandson, Terry G. Haslam; and second wife, Anna Lucille Hutchens, who passed away March 7, 2006.
The family thanks the staff at Parkdale Care Center for their attention and love of Lester.
Graveside service was Wednesday, Feb. 28, at Price City Cemetery. Family gathered at Mitchell Funeral Home on Wednesday.
